Fresh Start at Covenant Presbyterian Church (CPC) will not be meeting in June, July or August.
We will relaunch Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Have a blessed summer!
What is Fresh Start?
Fresh Start is a process — not a program — that helps people work through the effects of offense, hurt, and loss using the practical, biblical pathway of forgiveness. It was founded by the late Pastor Steve Peterson and his wife Mindy, and it's been used in more than 50 nations and translated into 20+ languages.
Fresh Start exists to see every heart set free from the effects of offense, hurt, and loss. Every Tuesday night in Omaha, we gather to walk through that pathway together — through teaching, small groups, and the practical, biblical process of forgiveness. No fee. No registration. Just come.

What To Expect
It's normal to feel a little nervous walking into something new — so here's what to expect.
Come a few minutes early and grab a seat in the lower level. There will be friendly faces near the door to welcome you. The evening starts with a short teaching, followed by small group time. We'll wrap up by 8:30. You don't have to share, you don't have to know anyone, and you don't need to bring anything — just yourself.
We have snacks, water, coffee, and tea are usually set out, in case you're hungry or coming straight from work.
There's no dress code — come comfortable.

What is the Process
There's a reason we call this a process, not a program. Fresh Start is a six-part biblical process of applying the gospel to your heart, and it's designed to be a tool you can use for the rest of your life.
1. Your story — What happened? Who hurt you? What have you lost?
2. Your heart — What thoughts and feelings have you carried because of it?
3. Your response — How have you reacted? What internal agreements have you made?
4. Pour out your heart — Get the unmet hopes, dreams, and desires out and onto paper before God.
5. Forgive — Receive forgiveness first; then forgive the way you've been forgiven.
6. Release — Hand the person and the situation over to God.

Who is Fresh Start for?
Anyone carrying an offense, hurt or loss. You don't need a "big" story to come. If your heart needs freedom, Fresh Start is for you.

Is there a cost? Do I need to register?
No fee, no registration. Just show up. We'll get you connected when you walk in.
What happens on a typical Tuesday night?
Doors open at 6:30 so you have time to settle in and grab a seat. From 7:00 to about 8:30, you'll hear short, practical teaching grounded in the Fresh Start process, then spend time in a small group walking through the material together. Groups are confidential and low-pressure — you share what you want, when you're ready.
I've never been before. What do I do?
Walk in the South Entrance and head to the lower level. Someone wearing a Fresh Start name tag will say hi, help you get oriented, and point you to a seat. That's it.
Do you take a summer break?
Yes — our Tuesday night gatherings at CPC pause for June, July, and August so our leaders and volunteers can rest and prepare for the fall. We relaunch the first Tuesday of September. If you need support over the summer, reach out or use the Fresh Start app to keep moving forward.
Is there a Fresh Start in my city?
That depends on where you live:
If you're in Omaha or nearby: Come join us. We meet every Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church (15002 Blondo Street). No registration required.
If you're close to Omaha but not local: Our closest in-person gathering is in Omaha — we know that may be a drive, but we'd love to see you if you can make it. If that's not possible, download the Fresh Start app — it has the full process, video guidance, the Processing Booklet, and the Participant Guide so you can work through it from wherever you are.
If you're further away: We don't have an in-person gathering in your area yet, but you have everything you need to begin on your own. Visit freshstartforallnations.org or download the Fresh Start app, which contains the full process, step-by-step video guidance, the Processing Booklet, the Participant Guide, and the Freedom Series for follow-up resources. If you have questions along the way, reach out — we're glad to help.

What comes after the six-part process?
Fresh Start isn't something you complete — it's a process, a lifestyle. We hope you'll keep coming on Tuesday nights even after you've walked through a small group. There's always more freedom available, and the teaching during the larger session continues to be helpful no matter how many times you've worked through the process. Many people also walk through a small group again, focusing on a different area of their heart.
How can I serve or get more involved?
We're always looking for people who want to come alongside the team — hospitality, special projects, tech, and more. Fill out the volunteer form and we'll be in touch.
